§ I — Operational Clarity in Complex Combinations
Helping Integration Leads Navigate the Operational Side of M&A
Birchcrest works alongside in-house integration teams during business combinations — mapping operating models, preparing for day-one continuity, and providing a steady outside perspective throughout the process.
§ II — What We Offer
Three Focused Services for Integration Teams
Each service is scoped to a specific phase or need during an integration — designed to complement the work of your in-house team rather than replace it.
01
Pre-Integration Operational Mapping
A four-week structured mapping of two organisations' operating models ahead of a planned combination. Covers process overlaps, identified gaps and key considerations for the integration plan.
- Written summary of both operating models
- Overlap and gap identification
- Supports your in-house integration lead
02
Day-One Operational Readiness Workshop
A one-day working session for an integration leadership team of up to ten people. Focuses on the topics that need to land cleanly on the day of combination — staff communications, systems access, customer continuity and supplier notification.
- Up to ten participants
- Written readiness summary output
- Covers four operational continuity areas
03
Integration Lead Sounding-Board
A monthly arrangement for integration leads who want a quiet outside view on operational decisions and pacing. Includes two scheduled calls per month, written notes after each and discreet review of integration artefacts.
- Two calls per month with written notes
- Discreet artefact review
- Flexible multi-month arrangement
§ III — Why Teams Work With Birchcrest
An Outside Perspective, Precisely Placed
Operational Focus
We concentrate on the operational layer — processes, systems, people continuity and communication — rather than on financial or legal workstreams that other advisers cover.
Complementary, Not Competing
Our work is designed to sit alongside your in-house integration lead, not to replace the role. We provide structured support and a quiet second opinion when it is most useful.
Written Outputs
Every engagement produces a clear written record — summaries, notes and lists that the team can refer to and share internally, reducing reliance on verbal agreements.
Scoped and Contained
Services are fixed in scope and price from the outset. There are no variable billing arrangements, no scope creep and no dependency on ongoing retainers unless you choose the monthly option.
Discreet by Default
Integration work involves sensitive information. We treat all conversations and artefacts shared with us as confidential, and we do not reference client work in any form.
Straightforward Pricing
All fees are in Singapore dollars, stated clearly before any work begins. No currency risk, no invoice surprises and no minimum commitment beyond the selected service.
§ IV — Start a Conversation
Is your integration team navigating a combination right now?
A short call is often enough to establish whether Birchcrest can be of use. There is no obligation, and we keep initial conversations brief and practical.
§ V — Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Birchcrest's work designed for?
Our services are designed for in-house integration leads at businesses that are planning or currently executing a merger or acquisition. We work best alongside teams that already have internal responsibility for the integration and want structured external input on the operational side specifically.
Do I need to engage all three services?
No. Each service stands on its own. Many clients start with the Pre-Integration Operational Mapping and decide later whether ongoing sounding-board support would be useful. Others come to us specifically for the day-one readiness workshop. We do not require a broader engagement.
What size of combination do you typically support?
We have worked with combinations ranging from two small businesses joining operations to mid-sized regional deals with more complex structures. The common thread is that an internal integration lead is in place and operational clarity is the priority. Transaction size is less relevant than the operational complexity involved.
How quickly can you begin?
Once we have had a short introductory call and confirmed the scope, we can typically begin within one to two weeks. For day-one readiness workshops, we ask for at least two weeks' notice to allow adequate preparation time before the session.
How do you handle confidentiality?
All conversations and materials shared with us are treated as strictly confidential. We are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement before any substantive discussion takes place if that is the preference of your organisation or your legal team.
Are fees payable in advance?
For the Pre-Integration Mapping and Day-One Workshop, we invoice 50% on engagement commencement and 50% on delivery of the written output. For the monthly sounding-board, invoicing is at the start of each monthly period. All fees are in Singapore dollars.
